Two Months Old

It is going by so fast, like you all said it would. We are doing so good and loving being a family of three. Axel is growing so fast. When the midwives weighed him at our 6 week appointment, he weighed 12 lbs. 2 oz. and was 25 inches long. That was 2 weeks ago! We spent last Sunday with Ram's family and Axel's little cousin Berkeley. She is 3 weeks older than Axel, but you would never know it by holding her. I just laughed when I picked her up, since I can't even remember when Axel was that light. We look forward to the coming years as they become friends. It will be so fun to watch them play.
Ram and I went to Emigrant Gap with a friend last week to look at some property. It was Axel's first outdoor adventure as we hiked around for an hour. Ram carried him in the wrap under his jacket where he could stay cozy and warm. Then, he pooped! So, we waited for the sun to come out from behind the clouds and changed him on the ground. The cold didn't seem to phase him. Glad we brought the changing pad and a diaper!
Easter was great, as my sister Sandra and nephew Austin came to visit for a week. They were so excited to meet and hold Axel. We had lots of time together at my parents' house. Austin is going to be such a great big cousin. He loved to hold the baby and get grossed out by his dirty diapers. As you know, he has been battling leukemia for the 15 months. It has really made him a thougtful little guy. He told his mom that he hoped that he could be a good enough role model for his little cousin. How many 8 year olds think like that? What a sweetheart.
I have attached a few photos so you can see what a big boy Axel is becoming. He is smiling and "talking" a lot, but it has been quite the challenge to capture the smile on film. He sees the camera and instantly stops his performance. We are getting pretty good sleep. Usually, I get a 5 or 6 hour stretch at night followed by 2 more 2 hour naps. I am doing my best to take advantage and sleep those also. Thank you for thinking of us and our little boy. He is such a delight. We love him more and more every day.
